Flexible 64 RGB LED 8*8 NeoPixels Matrix is a kind of LED dot matrix with 8*8 LED beads. It can flash colorful light with same brightness. It has a soft square panel instead of a hard PCB panel. You can twist or roll the panel. It is flexible. The light will not be turned off once you twisted or rolled up the panel. The brightness will keep the same. You can use an outer device to control this LED dot matrix to create any effect you want. You can program to control the flash of colorful light. On the panel, you can see one output pin of a bead connected to an input pin of another bead. This forms a chainable grid structure. With the only one built-in microcontroller pin, you can use an outer device to control this LED dot metrix. Every bead on the panel is addressable for it has internal driver chip. You can design a program to control these LED beads and make them flash different colors. Because of each LED bead has about 18mA constant current drive, so the brightness of each bead will keep the same. Even if the voltage changes, you don't have to add any external choke resistors. To make it work properly, you have to power up it with 5V DC ( or within 4-7V range).
Features: 1. Single pixel dot based on WS281b core, which integrated control circuit and RGB beads. There is a single data line with a very timing-specific protocol. Since the protocol is very sensitive to timing, it requires a real-time microconroller such as an AVR, Micro:bit, Arduino, PIC, mbed, etc. It cannot be used with a Linux-based microcomputer or interpreted microcontroller such as the netduino or Basic Stamp. As it requires hand-tuned assembly it is only for AVR cores but others may have ported this chip driver code so please google around. An 8MHz or faster processor is required.
